The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office posted the following alert on Facebook regarding reported scam phone calls from callers pretending to be law enforcement.

(Paulding County, GA) The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office has recently been made aware of phone scams, where individuals are posing as Deputies. The subjects are advising potential victims that they neglected to show for recent Grand Jury appointments and warrants have been issued for their arrest. The victims are then asked to send money via electronic means in lieu of arrest.

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone that we do not make requests for electronic payments via telephone and if a call seems suspicious please take measures to avoid becoming a victim.
