Jerry Richard Wood, 75, Dies

Jerry Richard Wood, 75 of Dallas, passed away on Monday, Oct. 21. He was born Dec. 17, 1937, in Green River, WY., to the late, Thomas & Edna Wood. Mr. Wood retired from the Woodruff Arts Center. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, where he loved working with the children at the church and at Grace Christian Academy. Mr. Wood also enjoyed fishing and loved to sing.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Deloris Fern Wood; children, Tammy Mitchell of Aiken, SC, Angela Miller of Cape Girardeau, MO, Nicole Fincher & husband, Jonathan of Carrollton, GA, Dakota Bowen of Dallas, GA and Jessie- Lee Bowen of Dallas, GA; sister & brother-in-law, Iris & Dick Miller, Muscegan, MI; brother-in-law, Bruce & Lee Ann Gremard of Missouri; sister-in-law, Robin Gremard of Missouri; grandchildren, Heather Mitchell, Amber Mitchell, Wayne Proctor, Eric Proctor, Michael Fincher, Samantha Fincher and Charlette Fincher.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m., from Clark Funeral Home, with Dr. Ken Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 4 until 8 p.m.
