K-9 'Grep' Retires from Sheriff’s Office
K-9 Grep is a 10 and-a-half-year-old Belgian Malinois and was imported to the United States from the Czech Republic in December 2004.

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office would like to announce the retirement of the oldest member of the Canine Division, K-9 Grep, according to Corporal Ashley Henson/ K-9 Grep began his employment with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office in December 2004. K-9 Grep is a 10 and-a-half-year-old year old Belgian Malinois and was imported to the United States from the Czech Republic in December 2004.
As many people may remember, K-9 Grep was Corporal Ashley Henson’s partner for many years. In December 2011 Corporal Henson was promoted and became the Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer. Because of this, K-9 Grep was passed to another handler. K-9 Grep was most recently paired with Deputy Rickey Waters. Deputy Waters and K-9 Grep became an instant success locating multiple fleeing suspects as well as alerting on large quantities of narcotics. K-9 Grep has been responsible for locating hundreds of pounds of narcotics which resulted in the seizure of many vehicles. K-9 Grep has also been very successful in tracking nearly 60 fleeing suspects where he located them hiding.
Furthermore, K-9 Grep has performed hundreds of demonstrations for schools, churches, Boy Scout / Girl Scout groups, clubs, associations, etc.
K-9 Grep will truly be missed and it will be very difficult to replace him. K-9
Grep will live out the rest of his days in retirement relaxing and basking in the sun. Congratulations to K-9 Grep and thank you for your service.
