Damage, Road Closures Reported
A tornado watch affecting Paulding has been extended until 5 a.m. Saturday.

Paulding's not quite out of the woods yet, as it along with several other Georgia counties remain under a tornado watch until 5 a.m. Saturday. The county is also under a flash flood watch until 7 a.m.

Emergency officials late Friday reported damage in several spots in the county.
According to MaryAnn Phipps, coordinator and public information officer for Paulding County Fire/Rescue and Emergency Management Agency, about a dozen homes were reported damaged amid Friday’s weather.

At least four roads were closed as of late Friday due to fallen power lines and debris: Mt. Olivet Road, Wayside Lane, Old Yorkville Road and Spring Road.
The Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport in Dallas also was impacted, Phipps said. A hangar was damaged as were five or six aircraft, which led to the spilling of 300 gallons of fuel.

Fire crews foamed the area, Phipps said, adding that the area was secured as of about 11:15 p.m.
