Reservoir Contract Extension on BOC Agenda

Commissioners will consider an engineering services agreement with RLH Group LLC for continued permitting efforts of the Richland Creek Reservoir at tonight's meeting.

The Paulding County BOC is expected to vote at its business meeting Tuesday night to extend the contract with RLH Group, LLC to get the county through the permitting process for its new reservoir.

The cost of the contract extension is $85,700. At this point, the county will have to respond to comments, complete water withdrawal applications, and work through reviews and other processes with organizations like the EPA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. There is a $21,000 contingency for unforeseen costs.

"This is a moving target," BOC Chairman David Austin said. "This is a moving target with the EPA. This is a moving target with the EPD. This is a moving target with the Corps. You never know what's what until you actually have your permit."
