Meth, Coke, More Found In Barber Shop Drug Bust

Paulding County authorities arrested three people during the raid on the Hiram barber shop.

HIRAM, GA — Three people were arrested with methamphetamine, cocaine and other drugs during a raid of a Paulding County barber shop.

Search warrants executed at Kingdom Kutz Barber Shop, at 3601 Macland Rd. in Hiram, were the result of a several-months-long investigation into the business for drugs and gun possession, authorities say.

Agents from the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Paulding County Sheriff's Office were involved in executing the warrants on April 4, authorities announced Wednesday.

When they arrived, agents encountered multiple people hanging out both inside and outside the business, according to the Paulding County Sheriff's Office. Several were in the rear of the business, in a wooded area behind the store.

Once the scene was secure, agents located contraband including cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA, or Ecstasy, psilocybin mushrooms, a .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol and ammunition and accessories for other weapons.

The following people were arrested:

  • Michael Lydon Strong, 36, possession of MDMA with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine
  • Charles Edward Brown, 53, possession of psilocybin mushrooms, possession of cocaine
  • Darryl Cordell Floyd, 28, possession of cocaine

The investigation into the case is ongoing and authorities expect more charges to follow, the sheriff's office said.
