'Footloose,' Filmed in Hiram, Out Now
Paulding may be able to spot parts of their community on the big screen as the 'Footloose' remake premieres in Hiram at midnight.
It remains to be seen if Paulding County will get a full 15 minutes of fame as this year’s remake of Footloose premieres on Friday, but the community is likely to get at least a little bit of screen time after providing several filming locations for the flick.
Footloose filmed around the Atlanta area for three months last fall, with Kennesaw, Covington, Franklin and Senoia among the communities visited by filmmakers.
As we reported last year, . One location visited by filmmakers, , saw those working on the film install a sign in front of the business. Autohouse, the sign and other parts of Hiram can be seen in this trailer for the film beginning at the 34-second mark.

Locals can be on the lookout for places they know when Footloose premieres in theaters this weekend. in Hiram tonight, with tickets priced at $9.50 for adults, $8 for students and seniors and $7 for children.
Paulding’s brush with Hollywood hasn’t stopped with Footloose. Earlier this year, downtown Dallas as filmmakers worked on Joyful Noise, currently set for a Jan. 13 theatrical release (See the trailer here.) Locals also got into the action when crews set up shop at the .

More film opportunities could be on the way for Paulding, and the county is poised to greet them. , the secured for the county from the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office. The aim of the designation process is to offer film and television production companies easier, faster and better access to local resources and information. A Camera Ready Community is required to designate a liaison who can assist production companies on a local level.
And while filmmakers will be able to flock to Paulding due to the Camera Ready designation, those involved in production could soon be working here as well. Local leaders this summer were on hand for the , slated to open late this year.
