A man is in custody at the Cobb County Adult Detention Facility after police say he shot his wife and daughter at their home in Austell over the weekend.

On Saturday, a neighbor of 43-year-old Clarence Washington heard a domestic distrurbance and gunshots at his home in the 4300 block Stonecrest Drive at 3:49 p.m. Saturday and saw two people bleeding. The neighbor promptly called 911 and police arrived shortly thereafter. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Cobb police discovered Washington’s wife and teenage daughter had been shot.

Washington left the home after the shooting, but police were able to track him down and arrest him at a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Marietta Parkway, Cobb County jail records indicate. According to those same records, Washington is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of aggravated battery.

The condition of Washington’s wife and daughter was not immediately available, but Officer Mike Bowman told Patch on Saturday that the daughter had undergone surgery for her injuries.
