“During the investigation the officers found that the mother of the children parked the vehicle at 2:53 PM and left the children which were 2 and 6 years old. The vehicle was not running and the windows were open only about 1 to 2 inches,” Villa Rica PD said on Facebook.
The children were sleeping in the backseat when police arrived. One of the doors was unlocked, and was opened by police to let the hot air out of the car. Police said the mother was away from the car for 25 minutes.
