Paulding BOC Dissolves JDA

Officials say dissolving the JDA means the county won't work toward building a toll road.

voted Tuesday afternoon to adopt a resolution that would rescind Resolution 11-09 and dissolve a joint development authority that had been created between Paulding and several other counties and cities. 

That means that the county won't pursue the construction of a through the county.

Eric Creighton told the board that the residents of the western side of the county wanted to thank the commissioners for listening to them .

"Some people might feel like this step today was unnecessary, but for the piece of mind of the people who would be in the path of that road, it is necessary," Creighton said.

The board also voted to enter into a consultant services agreement with Heath and Lineback Engineers Inc. for the design of a replacement bridge at Willow Springs Road over the Silver Comet Trail at a cost of $157,788.87.
