Paulding County Makes Decision On School Tuesday
Paulding County Superintendent Brian Otott has made the final decision regarding a possible school closure on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

DALLAS, GA — Paulding County schools will not be open Tuesday, Dec. 12, the school district announced Monday evening. The decision came after schools were closed Monday and students were released early Friday due to weather considerations.
The final decision was made by Superintendent Brian Otott. The school system also reported that a decision on afterschool activities will take place on Tuesday.
"No school for students and staff tomorrow, Tuesday, December 12, 2017," reads a notice on the district's website. "Only annual employees and custodians report for work tomorrow at 10 a.m. A decision on extracurricular activities will be announced tomorrow."

The announcement reported that school district staff, government services, and utility services have worked diligently throughout the unprecedented weather event to ensure that schools are ready for students. However, the district had concerns including:
• secondary road conditions in some areas of the county,
• no water service to two schools (no estimate of repair time),
• and a boil water advisory for four schools.
