Paulding Deputy Recognized as DNR Volunteer of the Year
Barry Walker is active in youth hunters safety instruction in Paulding County.

Paulding County Sheriff’s Deputy Barry Walker has been named the 2014 Volunteer of the Year by the Georgia Hunter Education Association.

The organization is affiliated with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and partners with DNR to help educate hunters throughout Georgia.
Over the years, Walker has volunteered by teaching hunters safety courses to youth in Paulding County. He also has worked with the DNR with such events as kids fishing days.

“It is wonderful to have deputies like Barry Walker who not only serve the citizens of Paulding County in their official capacity as a deputy, but serve them during their personal time helping educate children on hunters safety,” Paulding County Sheriff’s Gary Gulledge said in a news release.
