Paulding Weather: Best Chance for Wintry Mix Early Saturday

The National Weather Service has updated its Winter Weather Advisory for metro Atlanta.

The advisory is in effect from 8 p.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Saturday along and north of a line from Carrollton to Atlanta to Washington. Up to 1 inch of snow/sleet and a tenth of an inch of freezing rain is possible.

The area includes Paulding County.

The timing in the Dallas area, according to the weather service forecast:

Tonight: A slight chance of rain, snow, and freezing rain before 10pm, then a chance of freezing rain and sleet. Cloudy, with a low around 30. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow and sleet accumulation expected.

Saturday: A chance of freezing rain and sleet before 9am, then a chance of rain or freezing rain between 9am and 10am, then a chance of rain after 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 52. Southeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no sleet accumulation expected.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for much of the area north of the advisory area, with up to 3 inches of snow and a quarter-inch of ice possible.
