Paulding Welcomes 3 Farmers Markets

Two Farm Bureau Farmers Markets, opening for the season on Saturday and Tuesday, join the Dallas Farmers Market as places to buy farm-fresh foods.

Paulding County residents will have plenty of homegrown-produce options from which to choose the rest of this spring and into early fall with three farmers markets.

The Dallas Farmers Market 

April 30 was opening day for the spring/summer market in Dallas. "We are a community of farmers, gardeners, bakers and cooks who live in and around Paulding County and the North Georgia town of Dallas. At our market you will find the  freshest home and locally grown seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as breads, jams, jellies, preserves and other homemade foods," Tom Liddle said.

Hours: 8 a.m. to noon, Saturdays.

Location: Parking lot of the old Dallas Courthouse Annex on the southeast corner of West Memorial Drive and South Johnson Street in downtown Dallas. Parking is available across the street in the Regions Bank parking lot.

The other two markets will be operated by the Paulding County Farm Bureau, charging $25 for both locations to vendors, who must sell direct produce—no reselling.

Paulding County Farm Bureau Farmers Market

Beginning Friday, this new farmers market location at a huge, new venue under the supervision of the Paulding County Farm Bureau (PCFB). "Farmers, producers and growers in Paulding and surrounding counties in Northwest Georgia are coming together to provide our community with the best in fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, preserves, jams and jellies, eggs, fresh bread, honey and many other homemade and handmade products," PCFB market manager Shannon Davidson said.

Hours: 3 to 7 p.m., Fridays.

Location: Crossroads of Ga. 92 and Ga. 120 in the empty lot across from , Dallas.

Hiram Farmers Market

Along with the city of Hiram, the Paulding County Farm Bureau also will oversee this market. Last year, the market was hosted by the city in Historic Downtown Hiram near the fountain, where it was known as the Hiram Harvest Evening Market. This year, to the city's off Ga. 92.  

Local farmers and vendors will sell a wide variety of locally grown produce, including tomatoes, blueberries, blackberries, fresh corn, melons, squash, zucchini and strawberries. Also to be sold will be fresh eggs, local honey, jams and jellies, dried herbs, fresh-cut flowers, plants, and fresh-baked artisan breads.

A live band and food vendors will be among the attractions each Tuesday, starting May 10.

The Paulding County Farm Bureau offers such great resources and ensures farmers and agriculture in our area are supported and encouraged, according to city officials.

Vendor applications are encouraged from farmers with produce, vegetables and flowers and from nonproduce vendors whose items are made from produce, vegetables, flowers, herbs, bees and other products.
