'Purple Rain' Screening in Atlanta Metro Theaters

ATLANTA, GA — "Purple Rain," the album, could easily stand alone among the best albums of all time. But it's also a soundtrack to the 1984 film by the same name that, like his music, is uniquely Prince.

After Prince's sudden death Thursday at 57, tributes have popped up across the globe, including all-night dance raves and radio and TV stations playing his hits on a constant loop.

So, it's not surprising that movie theaters are joining the tribute, with AMC and Carmike Cinemas announcing it will screen "Purple Rain" from April 23-28.
