The change of locale is due to the large number of students expected to be recognized during the meeting for their achievements in academics and athletics. A complete list of the scheduled recognitions is included in the meeting agenda attached to this article.

The recognitions likely will take longer than the board’s action agenda—the only two items board members are set to vote on during that portion of the meeting are the purchase of an HVAC unit for and a list of proposed field trips.

Board members during the meeting also will serve as an audience to a parent who has requested to speak during the meeting. That parent’s presentation is scheduled before the board’s action agenda.

Officials also are set to go into closed session during the meeting, with personnel actions the only type of vote slated for the board upon members’ return to open meeting.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will begin at 6:15 p.m. Return here for live coverage of the meeting.
