Dallas-Hiram Patch:  How long have you been open?

Tricia Lowther: Since June 4, 2011.
Dallas-Hiram Patch: What's the hardest thing about being a small-business owner in Dallas?

Lowther: Getting the word out that we here.

Dallas-Hiram Patch: What's the best thing about your job?

Lowther: The appreciation from the parents and participating in the progress of their children. It is truly a joy to see children succeed and proud of themselves.

Dallas-Hiram Patch: What's the best thing about Dallas?

Lowther: It offers the same access as Cobb County for my customers without the high cost. And it is a much more peaceful location.

Dallas-Hiram Patch: Why did you choose to open up your business in Dallas?

Lowther: Our Dallas Highway location is easily accessible to many communities in Paulding, Cobb and even Douglas counties.

Dallas-Hiram Patch: Why did you pick this particular kind of business?

Lowther: I trained and worked in speech therapy for more than 20 years. Now I get to do what I love, helping children and families, in a way that I know works and is also affordable during a time when many people are in need of services that are reasonably priced.

Dallas-Hiram Patch: What are some of the services you offer that people don't know about?

Lowther: We offer consulting and advocacy services to help guide parents through the maze of the special education system. We also offer a resource to parents who children have fallen through the cracks because they don't qualify for mandated services, but could use some assistance in overcoming obstacles that commonly hinder social and language development.

Dallas-Hiram Patch: Is there anything else you would like to share about your business?

Lowther: Babies R Talking and Language Lab is a hybrid between therapeutic, educational and enrichment programs. We have combined strategies, eliminated obstacles and offer easy access to expertise on language, social and cognitive development. on Saturday, June 2, at our offices in the Evans Mill Office complex, across from Hardy Ford and behind the Bank of the Ozarks. It is open to the public and will give visitors an opportunity to tour the facility and see how we have been helping parents and children for the last year.
