South Paulding's Bingham Excels in Science

Taylor Bingham, a senior at South Paulding High School, has been involved in many other activities while excelling in science.

Taylor Bingham  recently won the county science fair and advanced to the state competition in March.

At the state level Bingham won the Meril Biotechnology Award, was recognized for Excellence in the Medicine and Health category, won first place in the senior division, was named in the top ten and is the International Science and Engineering Fair alternate for national competition.

Bingham was recently notified that she will be one of two students from Georgia attending the National Youth Science Camp in West Virginia this summer.

Asked about the key to her success in science Bingham said, "My inspiration has come from several influential people I have been blessed to know. Along with my wonderful family I credit Tracey Hagin for a great deal of my success. She believed in me when no one else did and inspired me to try new things and explore outside my comfort zone."

Hagin is a science teacher at South Paulding High School.

"These individuals, along with my faith, have helped me stand a little taller and follow my dreams no matter how far fetched the goals I set may be," Bingham added.

In addition to the achievements in science Bingham is involved in many other activities at South Paulding. She is a member of the varsity track and cross country teams, a member of the National Honor Society, a member of the marching band, and a member of the Environmental Club.

Next year Bingham will be attending Berry College.
