Spring Into Elrod Nursery For Spring Preparations

This Paulding business aims to serve amateur and professional landscapers alike.

Elrod Garden, Nursery and Landscape Supply opened its doors in 1988. Although the last few years have hit every landscape supply company very hard, owners Sam and Danita continue to offer Paulding County residents and commercial landscapers a variety of gardening supplies and services.

Besides Elrod’s retail store, their growing facility is also located in Paulding County. Locally grown annuals, perennials, herbs and hanging baskets are among the items for sale throughout the spring and summer months. Although preparing for spring, trees, fertilizer, grass seed, chemicals and straw are currently available. Soon, what the business boasts as the largest selection of vegetable seeds in the county will be available. Patrons can shop for Cahartt’s work clothes, fill an LP tank or browse the various landscaping tools at Elrod.

Sam and Danita provide knowledge and advice on various horticulture questions.  They have included an “ask Sam” tab on their website. Recently, Elrod has worked in cooperation with the county extension service to provide a sheltered, customer friendly area to host the weekly Dallas Farmer’s Market. Each Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m., customers can browse local vendors' booths for fresh produce, honey and various homemade products. Unsure if they will continue to host the Dallas Farmer’s Market throughout the spring, Danita enthusiastically welcomes customers to stop by and make themselves at home.
