Traffic Light at High School on Commissioners’ Agenda

Paulding commissioners may greenlight a contract for installation of the signal at their meeting Tuesday.

A traffic light may soon be signaling drivers heading toward Paulding County High School.

Paulding County commissioners at their 2 p.m. business session Tuesday could give the green light to a $59,335 contract with Wilburn Engineering LLC for the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of State Route 61 (Villa Rica Highway) and Aiken Drive.

Other items set to be considered by the commissioners include a contract with the Georgia Department of Corrections for an inmate work detail and an agreement with the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission Area Agency on Aging over the usage of vehicles for transportation and meal delivery for elderly residents in the county.

These and other items will be discussed at 10 a.m. work session of the Paulding County Board of Commissioners, with commissioners returning at 2 p.m. to vote on any items carried forward from their morning meeting.
