Two Million Reasons To Celebrate
A Paulding County couple claimed a $2 million prize won from a Powerball drawing last week.

Days after their numbers came up, Kenneth and Mary Davis of Dallas are $2 million richer.
According to a news release Wednesday, the two held . For matching the numbers 1-7-11-55-56, they won a $2 million prize. The Powerball in that drawing was 1, but the Davis’ ticket did not match that number drawn.
The couple on their ticket selected the PowerPlay option for an additional $1, increasing their prize amount by $1 million. The Davis’ claimed their prize Wednesday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

Powerball is a multi-state game that is $2 per play. Players can increase prizes with the PowerPlay option for an additional $1 per play. Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
