Voting Gets Under Way Today

Those wishing to avoid election-day lines have one place to go starting today, with more polling sites opening up in the coming weeks.

Paulding voters will have several opportunities this month to beat the election-day lines. The first such chance begins this morning in Dallas.

Early voting gets under way at 8 a.m. in the in the Watson Government Complex, with the polls closing for the day at 5 p.m. The 8-to-5 schedule will remain in place each weekday until July 27, while Saturday voting will be offered at the same location July 21.

Advance voting will open up at three satellite offices the week of July 23—, 2056 Hiram Douglasville Highway, Hiram; , 1550 East Paulding Drive, Dallas; and the Crossroads Library, 909 Harmony Grove Church Road, Acworth. Voting hours at the three locations will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

Voters will have to go to their normal polling places on July 31—the actual day of the election.
