Weekend Roundup: Raiders Upset, Wolfpack Mauled

Pope 29, East Paulding 23 – Even though three teams are tied atop the Region 5N-AAAA standings, stands to win the subregion because of tiebreaker scenarios, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. The Greyhounds upset previously unbeaten and fourth-ranked on the road Friday and scored as many points Friday as have been scored on the Raiders in their last seven games combined.
Kell 52, North Paulding 20 – scored on its opening kickoff return, then recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and scored on its first play from scrimmage, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. Before a minute had burned from the clock the Longhorns were up by two touchdowns. The Wolfpack have now lost three games in a row and at 1-5, are in last place in Region 5N-AAAA.
South Paulding 28, Paulding County 14 – The Spartans won their fifth-straight game Friday in a two-touchdown defeat of in-county foe . The Spartans are alone on top of the Region 5S-AAAA standings at 5-0 with the Patriots at 1-4 in fifth place.
