The event, complete with a ribbon-cutting, will run from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

AVONDALE ESTATES, GA -- Willis Park, which has undergone an extensive overhaul dating back to last year, will be fully and officially re-opened on Saturday.
A grand re-opening and ribbon cutting is scheduled for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the park, at 51 Dartmouth Ave. in Avondale Estates.
Attendees can enjoy free hamburgers and hot dogs from Skip's Catering, a bouncy house, an art station from Garage Door Studio, games and a tour of the park led by the contractor who headed up the renovation.

After renovations that began last year, much of Willis Park has been open to the public since the middle of last month.
But city leaders plan to finally remove the orange fencing around the playing field on Saturday. That area has remained blocked off so new sod there could become fully established.

New playground equipment, benches, swings, pathways and a new pavilion already are fully accessible at Willis Park.
Since last year, the park, which sits next to The Museum School off of Dartmouth Avenue, has been under construction and has, at times, been blocked off entirely to pedestrian traffic.
