$12.5M Awarded By Douglas County Jury For Cycle's Bad Brakes

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Douglas County State Court jurors last week awarded Adrian Johns and his wife a $12.5 million verdict at trial against Suzuki Motor Corp., and its subsidiary, for causing a crash that broke Johns' spine and left him unable to resume his postal career.

After a three-week trial, Douglas County State Court jurors took less than five hours to decide defective brakes on Johns’ 2006 Suzuki GSX R-1000 motorcycle caused the wreck that broke his back, according to Courtroom View Network.

The jury’s award includes $10.5 million to Johns and $2 million to his wife, Gwen Johns.
