Academy Sports + Outdoors Opens New Store With $100 Gift Cards for Kid Shoppers

The new Academy Sports + Outdoors store in Douglasville opens to the public on Friday, May 2.

But the first customers at the 7200 Concourse Parkway location are going to be kids. And they’ll have some spending money.

The store, the eighth in metro Atlanta, kicks off opening weekend on Thursday by giving $100 gift cards to 30 kids from the Douglas County Boys & Girls Club. Each child will be escorted through the store by a sales associate from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday after a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:45 p.m.

The store opens to the public at 8 a.m. Friday. The first 100 customers who show they are a fan of one of the store’s social media sites will receive a gift card.
