Air Force Vet Willie Radford Gillespie, 91, Dies
The funeral service was Friday, Sept. 6, in the Rosehaven Chapel with Dr. John Pennington, Reverend Woodrow Hudson and Reverend Paul Blair officiating.

Willie Radford Gillespie, 91 of Douglasville, passed away Monday, Sept. 2. He was born April 11, 1922 in Roopville, GA. He was a Veteran serving his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during WW II and also served as Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Sears as a salesman for more than 20 years. He loved spending time with his family and he enjoyed his wife’s love of camping. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Douglasville.
Mr. Gillespie was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Alan Gillespie; his father and mother, Hugh and Parrie Prince Gillespie; and his step-mother, Arvelia Rooks Gillespie.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Frances Gillespie of Douglasville, GA; son, Greg Gillespie and his wife, Kim of Conyers, GA; daughter, Ginny Underwood and her husband, Danny of Winston, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Underwood, Lauren Everette, Julie Camp and Brandy Evans; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was Friday, Sept. 6, in the Rosehaven Chapel with Dr. John Pennington, Reverend Woodrow Hudson and Reverend Paul Blair officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
