Douglas County public schools open Wednesday, Aug. 5 (as if you didn’t already know that).

Here’s a look at key dates for the 2015-16 school year:

Aug. 5: First day of classes

Sept. 7: Labor Day (school holiday)

Oct. 9, 12: Student/staff holidays

Nov. 23-27: Thanksgiving break

Dec. 18: End of first semester

Dec. 21-Jan. 4: Holiday break (teacher workday on Jan. 4)

Jan. 18: Martin Luther King Jr. Day (school holiday)

Feb. 11-15: Student/staff holiday

April 4-8: Spring break

May 20: Last day of classes
