Billy Andrew Horton, 68, Dies

Billy Andrew Horton, 68 of Carrollton, passed away on Monday, Sept. 2. He was born May 23, 1945 in Carrollton, the son of Maiden Patterson Horton and the late Winston Alvin Horton. He was retired from construction work, and was a member of Cross Plains Christian Church.

Preceded in death by his father, Winston Alvin Horton, he is survived by his wife, Sandra Yvonne Norman Horton of Carrollton; his mother, Maiden Patterson Horton, of Carrollton; children: Emily Yvonne Horton Leak, and her husband, David, of Carrollton; Brian Horton and his wife, Laurie, of Bremen; sisters: Sue Miller and Lynn Teal, both of Carrollton; and six grandchildren: Logan Leak, Jonathan Leak, Nathan Leak, Kathryn Leak, Leslie Horton and Beau Horton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, from Cross Plains Christian Church with Rev. Joel Eynon and Rev. Steve Puckett officiating.

The body will be placed in church at 1 p.m. on Thursday. Music will be rendered by Jeff Pate, Phil Bishop and Ellen Threadwell. Those serving as pallbearers will be Jason Norman, John Miller, Ken Miller, Glen Threadwell, Brian Threadwell and Jason Teal. Interment will follow in Cross Plains Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cross Plains Food Pantry, Cross Plains Christian Church, 1356 Cross Plains Road, Carrollton, Georgia, 30117. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m.
