Cultural Arts Council Douglasville | Douglas County

Every month the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County features the artwork of a local craftsman in the&nbsp;Pop Up&nbsp;Arts Shop. The CAC strives to connect the Douglasville community to affordable, locally created products, and is proud to welcome&nbsp;acrylic and mixed media artist Penelope Davis&nbsp;as&nbsp;August’s featured&nbsp;local creator! Specializing in a wide variety of&nbsp;original mixed media paintings, her works are both eye-catching and beautiful. Products will be available for purchase between August 3 - 31 at the CAC from 9 am - 5 pm.&nbsp;
Penelope is a self-taught artist who has been painting for over 35 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;She enjoys painting, drawing, and card making.&nbsp;&nbsp;She is originally from South Carolina and now&nbsp;resides&nbsp;here in Georgia. Her favorite&nbsp;images to&nbsp;paint&nbsp;are whimsical faces and florals, but she&nbsp;finds inspiration in a wide variety of&nbsp;subjects. 

The&nbsp;Pop Up&nbsp;Arts Shop is the place for amazing one-of-a-kind gifts created by local artists. Each&nbsp;month&nbsp;the CAC features a different artist that works with varying mediums. All items are under $75 so be sure to stop by the CAC for some amazing arts and crafts before&nbsp;they’re&nbsp;gone!&nbsp;

The Church Street Farmers Market season runs on Tuesdays from 3pm to 6:30pm.
The Church Street Farmers Market features locally grown produce, cut flowers, homemade breads, jams, jellies, vinegars and sweets, meat and seafood, local raw honey, handmade crafts, soaps, candles, and more. The market also partners with Georgia Fresh For Less to double up to $50 of SNAP/EBT benefits for fresh produce.
Free parking is available along Church Street and at the parking deck next to the Douglasville Conference Center.

Get up close and personal with our alpacas! Feed them, pet them, and take plenty of pictures while making unforgettable memories. We are always happy to educate our guests about these amazing animals and answer any questions you may have. Come for an hour or stay the entire two hours—the choice is yours!
🥕 Includes 2 cups of carrots per paying person. Additional cups of carrots are available for purchase. 🎟 Children ages 3 and under are FREE with a paying adult. ⏰ Arrive anytime between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. The event ends at 12:00 PM.

Join us for a fun and creative **Goose Painting Workshop!**
During the workshop, we'll play a game of **Goose Bingo**, and there will be **three prize winners**!
Each participant will receive:
* One goose to paint * Paint and brushes * Your choice of a decorative scarf
**Workshop Instructions:**
1. Paint the goose body with **two coats of white acrylic paint**. 2. Paint the **beak and feet**. 3. Apply a **light brown antiquing finish** and gently wipe it off, leaving the wings beautifully defined. 4. Paint the **eyes** and finish with a **clear glaze spray**.
Once your goose is dry, it's ready to go to its new home!
🦙 **Bonus Alpaca Time!** Each ticket holder will enjoy time with our alpacas and receive **one cup of carrots** 🥕 to feed them. Additional cups of carrots will be available for purchase.
