City Council Special Meeting Addresses Police-Chase Incident
The high-speed chase led to the suspension with pay of Police Chief Chris Womack.

The City of Douglasville has scheduled a special meeting Thursday in regards to the police chase incident that led to the suspension of Chief Chris Womack.

The City Council will meet at 5:45 p.m. Thursday to consider authorizing Mayor Harvey Persons “to sign an agreement with an independent third party to investigate the pursuit incident involving Police Chief Chris Womack on March 2, 2015,” according to the posted meeting agenda (also see below)
The investigation is to be completed before a scheduled special meeting on June 24.

Earlier this month, Council suspended Womack with pay until June 25 as an investigation is completed on the March incident which involved a high-speed chase on I-20 and alleged excessive force.
