During a press conference officially opening the site, CDPH Director Dr. Janet Memark said, ““This will take some of the burden off other sites. Hopefully by the time the second and third tiers are ready to be vaccinated, we will be up to full capacity. We are just waiting for more vaccine from the federal government.

Dr. Memark said they are hoping to vaccinate between 800 to 1,000 people a day once more doses become available when the inclement weather throughout the country has cleared.

The site uses the Moderna vaccine, which doesn't require special freezers for storage.
