The forecast is calling for rain, so head on over to the Douglas County Chamber’s Business-to-Community Expo inside Arbor Place Mall this Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.! The Expo, presented by West Georgia Technical College, is free to attend and open to the community. In addition to the many businesses in Arbor Place Mall, more than 50 other local businesses are expected to be on hand to showcase their products and services.

The 2013 Business-to-Community Expo features more than 50 exhibitors ranging from photographers and private schools to special events facilities and even a pet store. New attractions to the Expo this year include a fashion show at 1 p.m. presented by Belk, an interactive technology booth presented by Gold Sponsor, Google, and an appearance by Homer the Brave from the Atlanta Braves! Old favorites will be back this year such as Gold Sponsor WellStar’s Wellness Wing with free health screenings and massages and eye exams from other wellness exhibitors.

The Expo will have endless entertainment for the whole family including pottery and canvas painting, hands-on activities such as face painting, bean bag toss, and even a photo booth at exhibitor booths. If that isn’t enough fun, the Douglas County Government Day will be taking place outside of Arbor Place Mall featuring the “Touch-a-Truck Experience” with vehicles and equipment from the Douglas County Fire/EMS Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, including fire trucks and rescue units, mobile jail, mobile command center, armored vehicle, HEAT cars, and much more!

“The Douglas County Chamber proudly supports and promotes more than 600 local businesses on a daily basis, and the Expo is an incredible way for us to take that level of support and community involvement to the next level,” explained Expo Co-Chair and Comcast employee, Elisha Wilson. “Many residents of Douglas County and the surrounding regions commute into Atlanta and beyond, and they aren’t aware of the thriving business community that we have right here in Douglas County. Expo gives the community an opportunity to come out and get to know our local business owners and community organizations.”
