Deputy County Clerk Chosen as One of Georgia Trend's 40 Under 40

Deputy County Clerk of Douglas County, Jamie Brown Bennett, 36, has been chosen as one of Georgia Trend Magazine’s 2012 40 Under 40.

“I am honored and humbled to be chosen," she said in a press release. "I work for and with wonderful people who are supportive of me and my desire to make positive changes. I enjoy helping others and want to make a difference in a way that leaves a good impression.”

Georgia Trend, The Magazine of Georgia Business, Politics and Economic Development since 1985, announces the 2012 40 Under 40. The 40 are profiled in the cover story of the magazine’s October 2012 issue and online at www.georgiatrend.com.

The selections honor Georgians from around the state, under the age of 40, who are making their marks on their professions, their communities and their state.

“This is the 16th year we have recognized an outstanding group of young Georgians,” said Georgia Trend Editor Susan Percy. “Our class of 2012 includes representatives from business, government, the military, law enforcement, nonprofits and the arts. It’s a terrific group of young Georgians, and it’s a pleasure to be able to share their stories with our readers.”

Douglas County Commission Chairman Tom Worthan added, “We are proud of Jamie’s accomplishments and the recognition she has brought to Douglas County Government. She is always willing to take a project and make it her own with the best interest of others at heart. Her dedication to making government more effective and efficient is evident in her work.”

Winners were selected by the magazine’s editorial staff from nominations made by readers. In making the selections, Georgia Trend considers professional achievement and community service.
