The Douglas County Chamber’s 70th Annual Awards Banquet presented by WellStar Douglas Hospital was held on Saturday, February 7th at The Centre at Arbor Connection.

The Banquet sold out with over 400 people gathered for a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Douglas County Chamber.

The Annual Awards Banquet honored local businesses and individuals for community excellence.

While the food served by Sam & Rosco’s Restaurant and endless silent auction items were hot topics at the event, the buzz about the awards was contagious.

The 2015 Chamber Chairman, Rosco Sayyar, and former 2014 Chairman Matt Barrington presented awards to those outstanding members of our community including:

• Douglas County’s Citizen of the Year, Ron Wilson
• Small Business of the Year, Assured Comfort Heating & Air Services
• Large Business of the Year, WellStar Douglas Hosptial
• Diplomat of the Year, Kascia Lipford, Beyond the Front Porch
• Chamber Spirit Award, Janet Kelley
• Sam P. Roberts Community Service Award, Stephanie Bleakley
• Chairmans Award, John Sell, Georgia Power Company
