“I can think of no one more deserving of this award than Matthew Krull,” said Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia’s (PAC) Todd Hayes, who serves as one of Georgia’s two Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutors and who nominated Krull for the award. “He is passionately committed to protecting the people he serves from the horror and tragedy that often results from a completely preventable crime.”

Krull has served as an integral part of PAC’s prosecutorial and law enforcement training programs, which train hundreds of personnel throughout Georgia each year. In addition, he has supported and extended the reach of the DUI search warrant program that he helped to start while serving as his Douglas County’s Chief Assistant Solicitor-General.

“What a tremendous honor,” Krull said in a press release. “To be recognized in a profession full of heroes is truly humbling. I could not do this job without the hard work of my assistant prosecutors and staff. This award is a wonderful acknowledgement to the dedication required to keep the citizens safe on our roadways. I am fortunate to serve the people of Douglas County each and every day doing a job that I love.”

Krull is well known in the prosecution community as a vocal advocate for aggressive DUI prosecution and has taken a leadership role in the legislative activities of the Georgia Association of Solicitors-General.

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Krull has lived in Georgia since 1997. He graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and earned his Law Degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.

“In everything he says, does and undertakes, it is clear that Krull never takes his focus off the people who live, work and drive through his community,” said Hayes. “And because of that, Douglas County is one of the safest places to drive from an impaired driving standpoint.”
