Douglas Sheriff Checking Child Car Seats For Safety
Here's how to make an appointment for one of three upcoming dates in Douglasville, or get help if you can't afford a seat.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Worried that you may not have your child's car seat installed properly or getting ready to install one for a baby-to-be?
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Safe Kids Douglas County are teaming up to help make sure your little ones are safe.
Area residents can now make an appointment for a free car-seat check at one of three upcoming events.

The three dates that have been set are:
- Tuesday, January 3. Douglas County Transportation Center, 8800 Dorris Rd.
- Wednesday, January 18. Douglas County Transportation Center, 8800 Dorris Rd.
- Tuesday, February 7. Douglas County Transportation Center, 8800 Dorris Rd.

At the child-seat safety stations, parents will get one-on-one time to not only get help properly installing a car seat, but education on how to do it themselves. Sessions tend to last about 45 minutes.
For those in need, there will also be a car-seat distribution program.
Applicants must be residents of Douglas County and show their need with proof they're receiving assistance such as WIC, Medicaid or PeachCare. Applicants must participate in the above safety training to receive a free or reduced-price car seat.
