The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America has announced its “Light the World in Teal®” initiative to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease. It has invited landmarks worldwide to help make a difference by participating in the Light the World in Teal® program.

The City of Douglasville has joined with cities across the world to participate in the sixth annual program as part of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.
The aim is to shine a spotlight on Alzheimer’s disease and show support for the millions of people affected by it.

On November 5th, the City of Douglasville helped do its part by illuminating the lights of the fountain on O’Neal Plaza teal.

“By lighting the O’Neal Plaza fountain teal, we hope to help spread awareness of Alzheimer’s to as many Douglasville residents and visitors as possible,” Mayor Rochelle Robinson said. “Alzheimer’s affects so many people in our city and region, I am just elated to participate in this campaign for the third straight year.”
