Douglasville Homicide Suspect Critically Injured By Self-Inflicted Gunshot
Police say four children and their grandmother saw Paul Humphries shoot his girlfriend Monday night.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA -- A man who police say shot and killed his girlfriend is in critical condition Tuesday after turning a gun on himself, authorities in Douglasville say.
Douglasville Police received a "shots fired" call from the area of Hunters Ridge Drive and Holbourne Lane around 9 p.m. Monday, WXIA-TV reports.
Police had been searching for Paul Humphries, who they say shot and killed his girlfriend in the Augusta Woods subdivision, according to multiple eyewitnesses.

The station reported that officers arrived at the home to find a woman dead from at least one gunshot. Four children and their grandmother reported seeing the shooting.
Neighbors reported hearing Humphries run away from the home, then hearing a shot.
