Douglasville Man Arrested For Rape

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A Douglasville man is under arrest, charged with rape in an incident that happened last month.

Nelson Evan Coe, 24, is accused of strongarm rape in an attack the Douglas County Sheriff's Office says happened between 11:30 p.m. on March 3 and 3 a.m. on March 4.

The attack happened at a home on Del Ridge Drive in Douglasville and the victim was a 49-year-old woman, authorities say.

Coe was arrested on March 13.

An arrest report in the case does not provide extensive detail about the alleged attack, other than to say Coe "did have carnal knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will."

The report says he used his hand or fist as a weapon. The victim was not a stranger, according to the report.
