US Air Force Thunderbird Captain Remoshay Nelson was presented a proclamation and key to the city at a recent City Council meeting.

Captain Nelson is a Douglasville native and a graduate of Douglas County High School. She is also the first African-American female to be accepted into the Air Force Thunderbird elite demonstration team.

She is Thunderbird Number 12, and serves as the team’s public affairs officer.

She was one of the Thunderbirds involved in formation flying over Atlanta, Washington, D.C, and Baltimore recently in honor of COVID-19 front line workers.
