Douglasville Police: Arrest Made in Death of Grandmother Found Bound, Gagged
Florene Duke was found tied up in her Selman Road apartment on Nov. 10.

Update: Douglasville Police Chief Chris Womack said in Tuesday afternoon press conference that Odes Dupree of Douglasville has been charged with murder for the death of Florene Duke. Dupree apparently lived in an apartment nearby, robbed Duke to pay off a drug debt, and allegedly had been in the woman’s apartment previously. Read more from the AJC

Douglasville Police announced they have made an arrest in the death of Florene Duke, the 75-year-old grandmother who was found gagged and tied up in her Selman Road apartment on Nov. 10.
An autopsy determined the cause of death as “positional asphyxiation.”

WSB-TV has identified the suspect as Odes Dupree, 43.
