Douglasville Police Department Cancels Fall Festival, Safety Expo

The event, which was originally scheduled for mid-October before being moved to Nov. 7, was canceled over precautions over the coronavirus.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The Douglasville Police Department has announced that its fall festival which was planned for Saturday has been canceled.

Citing precautions that the department said must be made during the on-going coronavirus pandemic, the festival was canceled “for the well-being of everyone involved,” the police department posted on its Facebook page Monday morning.

“Know that we will all get through this and we hope to have a bigger and better festival year in 2021,” the post stated.

The festival, which was to have included food trucks, games and a safety expo, was originally scheduled to take place in mid-October before it was rescheduled for Saturday.
