Douglasville Police Hosting 'Community Trust' Meetings

Two events, one in the morning and one in the evening, are scheduled for Tuesday.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The Douglasville Police Department will host a pair of public meetings on Tuesday, with the goal being to increase community trust.

The events, one beginning at 9 a.m. and the other at 7 p.m., both will be at police department headquarters, at 2083 Fairburn Rd. in Douglasville.

The morning meeting will feature guest speakers including Dion Lyons of the U.S. Justice Department, WSB-TV reporter Nicole Carr and speakers from the Douglasville and Conyers police departments.

Lunch will be served at this event, which will run until 11:30 a.m.

At the evening meeting, there is a list of topics scheduled to be discussed. They include:

  • Traffic stops. Citizen/law enforcement interaction
  • Use of force
  • Officer-involved shootings
  • Holiday crime-safety tips
  • Fire prevention and safety
  • A question-and-answer period

The evening meeting runs until 9 p.m.
