Early Voting Ends Friday in Georgia
Polls will not be open over the weekend or on Monday, as poll workers prepare for Election Day.

ATLANTA — If you're hoping to cast a ballot before Tuesday's general election, you're running out of time.
Friday is the last day for advance voting in Georgia. Last week, polls were open on Saturday in all 159 Georgia counties. But that's not the case this weekend.
And early voting similarly will not be open on Monday, as poll workers prepare for Election Day. You can click here to check your voter registration status and to find the nearest early-voting location to you.

Georgia voters may also download the “GA SOS” app to check registration status, view a sample ballot, find their voting location and hours of operation, or request an absentee ballot.
The last one might be tricky at this point, though.

State officials have been urging anyone hoping to vote by mail with an absentee ballot to do so "well in advance" of Tuesday's polling.
A couple of days probably isn't enough time for election workers to mail you a ballot, for you to fill out the ballot and to get it back to them in the mail by the end of the day Tuesday.
Early in-person voting began in Georgia on Oct. 17.
In the 2012 presidential election, nearly 2 million Georgians voted early. Election workers expect to well exceed that number by the end of the day Friday.
Currently, there are over 6.5 million registered voters in the Peach State.
Turnout has been driven, in part, by an uncharacteristically close presidential election in the state. Georgia has been a reliably red state since 1992, the last time Georgia's electoral votes went to a Democrat.
But polls have shown Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump neck-and-neck in Georgia, generally showing Trump with a narrow lead or the two in a statistical tie.
