Eva's Bakeshop In Douglasville Set To Close
Eva's Bakeshop, located at 6880 Douglas Blvd., will be permanently closing its doors Jan. 18, after being in business for nine years.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Eva's Bakeshop, Sandwiches, Soup & More, located at 6880 Douglas Blvd., will be permanently closing its doors Jan. 18, after being in business for nine years, according to a Facebook post over the weekend. The bakery received the "2017 Reader's Choice Award" for "Best Dessert" in Douglas County by Douglas County Sentinel readers.
"Sadly, after over 9 wonderful years, Eva's Bakeshop will be closing its doors on Jan. 18, 2018," reads the post. "We're extremely grateful to all who have supported us and we hope to see you all again before closing. However, we will be continuing to take custom cake and all other dessert orders leading up to Jan. 18. We can be reached at 678-453-8197 for any questions regarding orders after that."
The post was met with many sad faces and crying emojis, five shares and 22 comments. ShyDiva Almond posted, "Oh no I will have to bring my staff by one last time!" Tonya Ledbetter said, "I'm so sad to hear this. Good luck with all you do moving forward." Kendra Terrell-Brown commented, "I am soooooooooooo sorry to see this happen. I will be by to see you."

"I will be working from my home from now on," Eva told Patch. "We want to possibly look at a different location but I haven't started looking yet. I will still be taking special orders; People can keep in touch with me through my Facebook page."
