Firefighter Injured in Douglasville Business Fire

He was taken to WellStar Douglas Hospital for observation and was improving.

A Douglas County firefighter was injured at a business fire in Douglasville Tuesday morning.

The fire occurred around 3:40 a.m. at Town & Country Fabrics and Upholstery in downtown Douglasville. County spokesman Wes Tallon confirmed a firefighter had been injured and taken to the hospital.

He was admitted to WellStar Douglas Hospital for observation and was improving Tallon told Patch.

The Douglasville Police Department posted on Facebook that the blaze closed roads in the area. As of 9 a.m., Bankhead Highway from Campellton Street/Dallas Highway west to McCarley Street was still closed to traffic.
