Free Food Drive-Thru Feb. 16 At Douglasville Police Station

Food will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis until supplies run out starting at 12:30 p.m.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — The Douglasville Police Department along with the Atlanta Community Food Bank will set up a "free food drive-thru" Feb. 16 starting at 12:30 p.m. at the police station, 2083 Fairburn Rd. Food will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis until supplies run out.

The food will be placed either in the trunk or back seat, no there is no need for anyone to exit the vehicle and social distancing can be maintained. Before the pandemic left millions of Americans unemployed, 16,490 residents in Douglas County were considered food insecure, according to Feeding America. The continuing economic fallout from the health pandemic has swollen that number to 21,590 who are on the brink of hunger.
