Funeral Arrangements Set for Zyrees Oliver

A public viewing is scheduled Saturday for the Douglas County High football player.

Funeral arrangements have been made for Zyrees Hashim Oliver, the Douglas County High School football player who died this week at WellStar Kennestone Hospital, days after he had collapsed following practice.

Oliver, 17, was taken off life support early Monday morning, Aug. 11. He had been at Kennestone since collapsing at home late Tuesday, Aug. 5, several hours after practice.

Willie A. Watkins Douglasville Chapel is handling the arrangements.

A public viewing is scheduled 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Douglasville chapel, located at 8312 Dallas Highway.

The funeral home posted on its website that Oliver’s remains will be shipped to William R. Wood Funeral Home in Burlington, N.J.
