DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A Douglasville man was killed Sunday when he lost control of his Jeep on Interstate 985 in Gwinnett County, according to police.
Juan Garcia Alanis, 24, was wearing a seat belt, but was still thrown from his 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee on a curve near Interstate 85, according to a Gwinnett County Police report.
The Jeep, which was headed north, spun out and slammed into a guard rail on a bridge, the report said. Ultimately, the jeep struck a cement pillar that holds up the I-85 overpass bridge.
